Enemy Attack Forecast
On the top left of the screen you'll see an Attack Forecast timeline. This timeline shows how soon enemies will attack each hill.
Red lines represent enemy waves. Each line starts on the far left of the timeline and moves right. When the red line hits the right end, the attack wave will land soon.
This timeline spans 7 minutes. There is a larger attack forecast timeline in the tactical operations annex which spans 30 minutes.
- Hill 21 will soon be attacked by several waves over several minutes.
- Hill 23 will soon be attacked by a single wave.
Expedition Objectives
There are two types of objectives:
Defend Monument objectives are required. If you fail this objective type, all in-progress objectives will fail and the expedition will end.
Test Bomb objectives are optional. Completing these objectives earns a payout. Keep an eye on each test bomb's countdown timer: it will explode when the timer expires.
Army Corps
Keep close track of your army corps. Move army corps to HQ when:
  • Corps is low on ammo.
  • Corps formations are suffering from debuffs.
  • Corps formations have low skills and are not needed on the front line.
Formation Modifiers
  • Low Morale formations have a reduced attack speed, are at risk of desertion, and are more likely to become shell shocked.
  • Radicalized formations gain an attack speed bonus, hold their morale when taking damage, gain morale from training, and are immune to shell shock.
  • Shell Shocked formations have a reduced attack speed, lose morale when training with weapons, and may become infected with space dementia. Shell shock is treated when the formation returns to HQ.
  • Space Dementia has no treatment. Infected formations cannot train with weapons and do not lose morale from combat.
Restricted Menus
Some menus and actions are restricted and are only available when an explorer is stationed in a specific area.
  • Army Corps Assignments can only be set when the tactical operations annex is staffed by an explorer.
  • Data anomalies can only be viewed and solved when the document annex is staffed by an explorer or I.N.T.E.R.N.

Expedition Difficulty
Expeditions are difficult. You may not have the resources to complete all objectives (even at difficulty 1). If you've earned some objective rewards but don't have the resources to keep fighting, you can end the expedition early and exfiltrate with the rewards you've earned and explorers that are still alive. Visit the spaceport ticket machine to end an expedition early.
Paperwork Backlog
Paperwork accumulates over time. In-game events will cause paperwork to increase:
  • Explorer killed
  • Formation wiped
  • Beacon/smoke shell launched
A large paperwork backlog causes side effects:
  • Longer orbital shell impact delays
  • Slower formation airlifts
The backlog can be reduced:
  • Station an explorer in the document annex. They will slowly complete paperwork over time.
  • Bring an I.N.T.E.R.N. camp follower asset along on the expedition.
  • Station at least 1 explorer in the document annex and solve data anomaly puzzles when available.
At the end of the expedition, players are rewarded for total completed paperwork.
- Paperwork backlog counter on the top left of the screen.
Letter Rewards
You can control which reward types you receive from letters on the player profile.
